Overview
The Department is seeking proposals from eligible not-for-profit entities to administer the state animal population control program required by Agriculture and Markets Law section 117-a.
The purpose of the Animal Population Control Program is to reduce the population of unwanted and stray dogs and cats, thereby reducing the instances of euthanasia and potential threats to public health and safety posed by a large population of unwanted and stray dogs and cats.
