Overview
The Department invites eligible entities to apply for funds through the FreshConnect CSA for SNAP Grant Program, which will allow SNAP participants to access the popular Community Supported Agriculture model by partially subsidizing the cost of weekly share purchases.
The goals of this program are to support New York farmers and producers by allowing greater access to their products throughout the state, allow SNAP participants the opportunity to access weekly shares of fresh, locally grown produce, and strengthen community bonds and raise awareness of the bounty of New York produce in regions across the state.
Apply
Applications must be submitted through the Statewide Financial System (SFS) to be considered for funding. Faxed, mailed, or e-mailed applications will not be accepted.
You may review the RFA and all requirements for this funding opportunity on the Contract Reporter website: New York State Contract Reporter (ny.gov).
To provide an overview of the program for potential applicants, a FreshConnect CSA for SNAP Program Informational Webinar was held on Tuesday, June 18 at 10:00 am. A recording of the webinar is available here.
