Media Advisory: Agriculture Commissioner to Push for Farmland Protection in the Hudson Valley

On Friday, February 20, State Agriculture Commissioner Richard A. Ball will be hosting a press conference in Kingston to tout $20 million in Governor Cuomo’s 2015-16 Executive Budget to protect farmland in the Hudson Valley Region.  More than 5,300 farms are spread across 730,000 acres in the Hudson Valley and 18 percent of the land is dedicated to agriculture.  Funding included in the Executive Budget will help preserve vital farmland for future generations.

Commissioner Ball will also tout a Hudson Valley success story made possible with help from state economic development dollars.
