Media Advisory: Agriculture Commissioner Joins the Upper Hudson Maple Producers Association for Maple Tapping
Promotes New York Maple Industry, Encourages New Yorkers to Support Local Maple Producers this Season

WHAT:           The New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets will join the Upper Hudson Maple Producers Association for a maple tapping at Brower Road Sugarhouse, a NYS Grown & Certified maple producer, to celebrate Maple Weekends, promote the New York maple industry, and encourage New Yorkers to support local maple producers this season. 

This year’s New York State Maple Weekends are March 19-20 and 26-27. During these weekends maple producers will be opening their sugarhouses for tours, tastings, demonstrations, and more.

New York State ranks second in the nation for maple production, producing 804,000 gallons of maple syrup in 2020. New York is also home to the largest resource of tappable maple trees within the United States and more than 2,000 maple sugar makers.
