Media Advisory: Agriculture Commissioner Joins SUNY Cobleskill for Ribbon Cutting at Newest Taste NY Location
Promotes New York Farms and Producers, Encourages New Yorkers to Choose Local Products

WHAT:           The New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets will join SUNY Cobleskill for a ribbon cutting at the newest Taste NY Market, located in the College’s Carriage House Café and General Store, to promote New York’s farms and food and beverage producers and encourage New Yorkers to choose local products.

The event will take place during SUNY Cobleskill’s annual campus-wide Plant & Meat Sale featuring products grown and processed by SUNY Cobleskill students.

New York State’s Taste NY initiative creates opportunities for local producers to showcase their goods at a variety of venues throughout the State, and helps the farms and companies participating in the program to reach more customers, increase online sales, and, in many cases, expand the processing capacity of their business. Taste NY’s food and beverage businesses also support the state’s farmers by using New York grown and produced ingredients in their products.
