Issowazena market is recalling skewered pepper product due to undeclared peanuts.

We are recalling all packages skewered pepper powder because of peanuts, which if consumed by people who are allergic to peanuts, may cause severe health problems. Packages are dated as exp. 29/12/2025, exp. 10/6/2024, and some bottles lack expiration date.

Individuals who are allergic to peanuts who may have consumed any of the above products should consult with their physician or health care provider.

The recalled skewered pepper was sold from the retail store Issowazena African Market in the Bronx and comes in a small plastic bottle of approximately 400 g and also 370 g.

The misbranding was discovered after routine testing by New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets Food Inspectors and subsequent analysis by Food Laboratory personnel revealed the presence of peanuts.

Sale of the product has been suspended while the company continues their investigation as to the source of the problem.

Consumers who have purchased this product of skewered pepper are urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact the company.
