Acting State Agriculture Commissioner Richard A. Ball today announced the following events running from Friday, January 24 to Sunday, January 26, 2014 at the New York State Fairgrounds:
The New York Sportsman’s Expo will fill the Exhibit Center with all of the latest and greatest tools and toys for people who enjoy the great outdoors. More than 150 companies will offer outdoors-related products and services.
Among the entertainment options at the Expo is an appearance by Troy Landry from the History Channel’s hit show, “Swamp People.” Landry will visit the show on Sunday, January 26. Also scheduled to appear on Friday and Saturday are Ralph and Vicki Cianciarulo, hosts of the Outdoor Channel hunting series, “The Choice.” The show also features an archery 3-D Shootout, a stocked indoor trout pond for fishing, contests, and seminars.
The Sportsman’s Expo runs from Noon – 8:00 p.m. Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. Saturday, and 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $10 for adults and children age 13 and up, $5 for children ages 6 – 12, and free for those age 5 and younger. Tickets are $7 for seniors, police officers, firefighters, or members of the military who have proper proof of identification. Collectorsfest 65 takes over the Horticulture Building on Sunday, January 26. More than 100 vendors will offer sports memorabilia, race memorabilia, sports and non-sports trading cards, autographs, Beanie Babies, comics, toys, and more. The show features an appearance from former Syracuse University basketball star Eric Devendorf, who was averaging 20 points a game for a professional team in Israel this season until he was sidelined by a back injury. Devendorf will sign autographs at the event from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Autographs are available for $10.
