Consumer Alert: Undeclared Eggs in Levy’s Bakery “Apricot Jelly Roll” and Levy’s Bakery “Raspberry Jelly Roll”

New York State Agriculture Commissioner Richard A. Ball today alerted consumers to undeclared eggs in Levy’s Bakery “Apricot Jelly Roll” and “Raspberry Jelly Roll.” Both items are made by Levy’s Bakery 26 at 63-79 Saunders Street in Rego Park, New York and are distributed in the New York City metro area. People who have a severe sensitivity to eggs may run the risk of serious or life-threatening reactions if they consume this product.

Both the recalled “Apricot Jelly Roll” and “Raspberry Jelly Roll” are packaged in a 20 ounce, clear, plastic clamshell and are coded as “EXP 06/15/2022”. The “Raspberry Jelly Roll” has a UPC of 23095-67148 and the “Apricot Jelly Roll” has a UPC of 35976-12840.

Routine sampling by New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets’ food inspectors and subsequent analysis of the product by the New York State Food Laboratory revealed the product contained egg allergens, which were not declared on the label.

No illnesses have been reported to date to this Department in connection with this product. Consumers who have a severe sensitivity to eggs and have purchased Levy’s Bakery “Apricot Jelly Roll” or “Raspberry Jelly Roll” should not consume the product.
