Consumer Alert: Undeclared Eggs in "Fujian Aixiangqin" Bread and in "Fujian Aixiangqin" French Roll

New York State Agriculture Commissioner Richard A. Ball today alerted consumers to undeclared eggs in “Fujian Aixiangqin” Bread and in “Fujian Aixiangqin” French Roll.  Both items are imported from China and are distributed in the New York City metro area by Apollo Food International Inc. in Brooklyn, NY.  People who have a severe sensitivity to eggs may run the risk of serious or life-threatening reactions if they consume this product. No illnesses have been reported to date to the Department in connection with this product. 

The recalled “Fujian Aixiangqin” Bread is packaged in a 360 gm, plastic wrapped package with a code of F2021.03.16B41 17:39.  The “Fujian Aixiangqin” French Roll is packaged in a 200 gm, plastic wrapped package with a code of F2021.03.0A15212:51.

Routine sampling by New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets’ food inspectors and subsequent analysis of the product by the New York State Food Laboratory revealed the product contained egg allergens that were not declared on the label.

Consumers who have a severe sensitivity to eggs and have purchased “Fujian Aixiangqin” Bread and/or “Fujian Aixiangqin” French Roll should not consume the product.  Consumers with questions about the recalled product may contact Manager Daniel Lu at (646) 269-8957 or may email the distributor at [email protected].
