New York State Agriculture Commissioner Richard A. Ball today alerted consumers to undeclared eggs and undeclared milk in “Ariana Cookies,” sold retail at Bakhter Halal Meat Grocery, Inc. at 73-09 Main Street, Flushing, NY. People who have a severe sensitivity to eggs or milk may run the risk of serious or life-threatening reactions if they consume this product.
The recalled “Ariana Cookies” are packaged in an uncoded, 16 oz. plastic package. The product is distributed by Ariana Sweets located at 4461 Peralta Blvd. in Fremont, CA.
Routine sampling by New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets’ food inspectors and subsequent analysis of the product by the New York State Food Laboratory revealed the product contained egg and milk allergens, neither of which were declared on the label.
No illnesses have been reported to date to this Department in connection with this product. Consumers who have a severe sensitivity to eggs or milk and have purchased “Ariana Cookies” should not consume the product.
