CONSUMER ALERT: Hicksville Villagers Corp. Issues Alert on Undeclared Sulfites in "Twisted Apricot"

Hicksville Villagers Corp. of Hicksville, NY is recalling 400 gram bags of “Twisted Apricot” because they contain undeclared sulfites. People who have a severe sensitivity to sulfites run the risk of serious or life-threatening reactions if they consume these products.

The recalled “Twisted Apricot” were distributed to stores in New York and New Jersey in retail stores. The product comes in a 400-gram clear plastic bag marked with Villagers Farmers Market / 265 N Broadway, Hicksville – NY.

No illnesses or adverse reactions involving this product have been reported to date.

The recall was initiated after routine sampling by New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets Food Inspectors and subsequent analysis by Food Laboratory personnel revealed that the sulfite-containing product was distributed in packages that did not reveal the presence of sulfites.
