RE: Class II Recall

(March 12, 2025) This is a notification that Quesos La Ricura will be conducting a voluntary class II recall.

Below is a list of the affected products that were manufactured by Quesos La Ricura Ltd (Plant 36-1256) on Friday January 31^st, 2025. Along with the names of the products you will find the size, expiration date, units made, and UPC code.

The expiration dates to identify the potentially affected product can be found on a white sticker located on either the side of the clamshell packaging or on the label of the product.

The products are being recalled voluntarily due to a mechanical issue with the pasteurizer chart recorder that failed to document the milk pasteurization process. Pasteurization is a process that heats milk to a specific temperature for a specific amount of time. Pasteurization kills the bacteria responsible for numerous illnesses and diseases such as listeriosis, salmonellosis, campylobacteriosis, typhoid fever, tuberculosis, diphtheria, and brucellosis. Pasteurization of milk is recognized internationally as an effective means of preventing outbreaks of foodborne illnesses. No illnesses have been reported to date.

For distributors: discontinue selling your potentially affected existing stock and return the listed product to Quesos La Ricura Ltd. Located at 225 Park Ave Hicksville NY 11801. In addition, if you have distributed this product, please identify and notify your customers of this product recall.

This recall is being conducted with the knowledge of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
